What a great morning yesterday making Hembree Springs E.S. and Roswell North E.S., not only lunch debt-free but also funding the All for Lunch Reserve Account so that no child will be denied lunch due to insufficient funds moving forward! If a child ever finds they do not have money in their lunch account, the Reserve Account will pay for the cost of their meal rather than going back into lunch debt.
Many people don’t realize it is so much larger than only lunch debt. If we only pay off the debt at a school, the very next day children are going back into the negative due to their family’s inability to fund their lunch accounts. Children are immediately back in debt and on the path to being denied the school lunch due to delinquent accounts. This is why the All for Lunch Reserve Account is so important. When we visit a school, we not only pay off the lunch debt, but we also establish the Reserve Account to act as an umbrella for these kids. If they ever find they do not have the funds in their account, they can access the All for Lunch Reserve Account to pay for the cost of their meal.
