100 Miles • All for Lunch
Help me tackle
student lunch debt.
Your fully tax-deductible contribution will exclusively support clearing overdue lunch balances and establishing reserve funds in schools. These reserves ensure that whenever a student lacks funds at the lunch counter, the reserve account will step in to cover their meal expenses
According to Feeding America, more than 44 million people in the U.S. face hunger, including 1 in 5 children. In 2022, 49 million people turned to food banks, food pantries, and community organizations to help feed their families.
Let’s pay it forward
When I was in 1st grade, I remember sitting at the lunch table with nothing while my classmates enjoyed their meals. My lunch account was in the red, and the school couldn’t provide me with lunch money. Thankfully, Mrs. Keo, an ESL teacher, stepped in and purchased my lunch for me. Not only that, she also assisted my family in applying for the reduced and free lunch program, which was a true blessing. Without that program, many of my classmates, like myself, would have gone through the school day hungry. For some, those meals were their only source of nourishment. That’s why I’m deeply passionate about ensuring that all children have access to meals, regardless of their financial circumstances.
To support this cause, I’m embarking on a 100-mile run to raise awareness and funds to eliminate student lunch debt. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference. Let’s pay it forward
